Please review the following:
For the past two years, we paid $200 per 30-minute session for functional neurology therapy at this clinic. we spent more than $20,000 including test and prescribed the supplements. We are now considering legal action.
My son is 5years old and back then he was 3. My child has epilepsy. Despite being fully aware of this condition, they used a device called TENS during treatment. After these sessions, my child experienced seizures as frequently as once every hour for three consecutive days, both day and night!!!! It was nightmare!!! I couldn’t sleep for 3days and my husband couldn’t go to work!!!! This was not a one-time incident. It repeated again after three days, then again after another three days, then once a week, then once every two weeks—this pattern continued for nearly a year!!!! Our son ultimately had no choice but to lie down for several months, and in the end, he had to start his development all over again, beginning with holding his head up. He developed slowly but speech is not developed and gross motor is not better than before using TENS. Mr.Lee speaks very well, and I believed everything he said. However, he is unable to apply what he says in practice.
My child continued to suffer from seizures throughout this time. We later learned that TENS should not be used on individuals with epilepsy or on pregnant women. This demonstrates a serious lack of competence and experience.
Instead of apologizing, they insisted that the treatment was appropriate. Meanwhile, my child was suffering significantly. Mr. Lee didn’t take seriously. Now, my child is even having difficulty picking up objects.
Ultimately, we had to go to the hospital, where my child was prescribed anti-seizure medication. Since then, the seizures have improved significantly, and my child is speaking much more.
However, this provider advised that my child should not take anti-seizure medication. I cannot understand how someone who claims to treat the brain could make such a careless and premature judgment.
You should think very carefully before making your decision. Taking advantage of parents of a child with a disability is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. They said they would use a laser there and that it has no effect. They even suggested that if we really wanted to do it, it would be better to use a laser at home that costs around $5,000. During the times I went three times a week, they only used the laser for about 15 to 20 minutes within a 30-minute session—so over a week, that’s only about one hour total. It had no effect.
