I have to explain a decent amount. About 3 years ago I custom built my very own pc, I built the pc right and installed windows 10 on it first try and it worked. (The Specs: 5600x CPU, 6600xt GPU, Aorus motherboard, A sata ssd for OS, and a NVMe ssd for general storage.) A little down the line I upgraded to windows 11 and the pc behaved the same. Over the past 3 years, the only two things that I have changed was recently I put in a big HDD for mass storage, and I changed the motherboard to a different Aorus motherboard, only different being form factor to fit a different pc case.
THE ISSUE: I can't remember when, but for as long as I can remember since I built my pc, Certain applications will become really and I mean REALLY SLOW. For example, I will turn on my pc and try to open discord, and it just never does anything, it doesn't pop up on the taskbar, and it doesn't pop up on my screen at all. However, it will show up in task manager as a process, so my pc is doing something but just not going the proper speed or somehing. My pc will do this like 1 in every 3 power on's, the fix is just to restart my pc, usually that fixes it, but sometimes I have to restart my pc again, then its fixed. The very odd thing about it is there are a few applications that are exempt from being slow, Microsoft Edge, Google, Outlook, and Microsoft App is normal speed, I use Opera GX as a browser and even that is ridiculously slow to open often. For as long as this issue has been happening, the only thing that I can remember is that it has been getting worse over time. Recently I have been needed to restart my pc every single time that I power on my pc, just to open a browser. Nowadays my OS SSD is starting to fill up and I need to do something about that. PLUS, I have to go off to college, and I do not want to deal with a slow pc in college, that could be detrimental to getting assignments done. If anyone has ever run into something like this, I could use any and all help, I just want to fix my pc because I spent good money on the components and don't want anything to go to waste. To me it doesn't make sense that any of the components wouldn't be strong enough to do simple tasks like open a browser, or open discord.
THINGS I HAVE DONE: ANY and ALL drivers are fully up to date and have been as long I have had the pc, I haven't tried swapping cpu or gpu before.
Thank you to anyone to comments.
