Another thing I normally love to do immediately but put off until now. It’s census year and I always complain that we didn’t receive the long form (which only a quarter of households receive and which I have been hoping for as long as I’ve been old enough to complete a census - yes I’m a big ol’ nerd).

This year I left the letter sitting there because the thought of doing it alone (and entering “widow” as my status) just hurt too damn much.

Ultimately I did complete it this morning because the thought of dealing with a census worker seemed like entirely too much.

Would you believe it, I received the long form! I’m so sad he wasn’t here to watch me get excited about that because he was always amused (and bemused) by my dorkiness.
