I know a feral Sphynx is completely unrealistic, but this is Warriors, the cats are able to make and do things they in real life wouldn’t. That being said I do like having some level of realism in my stories so I’ve tried finding solutions to the challenges a Sphynx would face, hopefully making it so his lifespan isn’t just a single year. Please tell me if you think these things work and if I’m missing anything big.. also name suggestions are welcome, I’m thinking something with mouse in it.

The Cold - He wears a hare/rabbit pelt his colony made for him during colder seasons. The camp is very insulated so it stays warmer than outside, it keeps out 85% of snow, and there’s 0 wind chill. The dens never get any snow or rain in them. The colony helps him stay warm with pelts in his nest and having his nest placed in a certain spot in the den. They will also snuggle with him if he’s struggling to keep warm. He doesn’t really leave camp during the coldest times of year.
The Sun - His colony is nocturnal and live in a very dense forest. So he doesn’t get much sunlight.
Social Issues - He isn’t able to contribute as much as other cats but his Colony has a very strong “All life has worth” and “No cat left behind” belief system. They don’t mind giving him the extra support he needs. During the warmer seasons he acts as a normal warrior (avoids any fighting though), and when he can’t leave camp he helps the healers, helps clean out dens, and fix things around camp.

I was having a discussion about a story I have that is based off the warriors series with someone and during that discussion they asked if I had any lqbtq+ rep (since warriors themselves has hardly any), and I told them I have several lgbtq+ cats and began talking about some.

I told them about an ace character named Falconstar and how she has a side plot relating to her sexuality. She’s been (happily) in a situationship for a while with her best friend from kithood. But her colony is putting pressure on her to take a proper mate and have kits. She does have a wanting for kits but is concerned about who to take as a mate. She does truly love Finchsong (best friend), he is the only cat she loves, but she doesn’t think it’s in the way she’s supposed to love a mate. Eventually cats help her realize that just because her love may differ from the “norm” doesn’t mean her love isn’t “the right kind” or that it’s incorrect. In the end Falconstar and Finchsong get a happy ending together. With Finchsong loving Falconstar and Falconstar also deeply loving him but just platonically.

After telling them about the character they said it was weird of me to make a feral cat ace. They said it insinuated nsfw topics and had no place in a story about feral cats. I tried explaining that I wasn’t insinuating anything, just that Falconstar didn’t feel love the way her colony believed she should. The conversation just devolved into them saying some not so kind things I’m not going to repeat. Now I’m at a loss and really want other peoples opinions on this.
