It's a great game. Job Done. Here are a few suggestions to either make what it is better or expand its longevity for the players. I don't think these are necessary but would add value.
- Yes, the end game. Just some random events and investment opportunities, maybe a changing market over time, viewing nights, sponsorships, etc.. We all know the drill. The game could really use a bit of this to keep things interesting. An expansion (like DLC) could focus on this and turn a diversion into something of a longer simulation with some replayability.
- Incorporate a version of the RR Workshop to allow players to add or trade movies in the fanbase or just while in game. Maybe this doesn't add longevity but would probably appeal to people's nostalgia and creativity.
- Make the Genre Categories Editable. With the above this would appeal to niche players who maybe just want a specialized Video Store (Like Classic Movies or Romance+Romance Novels, or Kid-Friendly, etc..).
- Minor Things: It would be nice to see the full covers of movies with a bit more closeup sometimes. Like, when you're holding it or looking it up the game could allow more zoom.
- More Daft Ideas: Customer Histories (Part of making this a longer game) so we can ban the bad ones and market to the good ones. Would be a good first step in expanding the economic model for the long game way of playing.
Again, I realize this is just a casual game, well done, but it really does have potential to be a little bigger/better/stronger/longer. It would be fun to have as a replayable 'No Stress' game, but it isn't quite replayable enough as is.
