anyone seeing what i’m seeing? besides fruit ai slop and shorts their used to be meaningful youtube creators/channels but now it feels like everyone is trying to emulate the same creators and build their own niche from their ideas, it’s all for revenue with slop ai scripts and thumbnails that are blown out of proportion that i would normally expect from tiktok…now same video topics will have already fifty different variations of “WHY MOVIES DON’T LOOK LIKE THIS ANYMORE” “why has cinema lighting changed” “why does the world hate color” recycled and regurgitated to hell to see who can climb on top of the search as the first result, i thought this would just start with the self help channels that were copy and paste and end at that but now it feels like those naturally written video essays and videos that weren’t made for low attention spans are long gone and it’s now “what topic can i milk as much as possible for revenue”…everytime i find myself watching a video it sounds like the same regurgitated slop script as the previous one just in a different font, i get the job market is bad and now everyone wants to make money off of social media as a content creator and there are endless problems in our world that people can profit off of by making videos but the monetization of everything has really gone to shit, just a sad state for youtube it really was the last haven where you could find genuine creators but now they sound identical to tiktok and twitter slop.

i know we talk about the psychologically harmful effects and moral injury social media has caused but what are things that you are glad that you found out, or are just bittersweet about, you hated finding out but are glad for eventually stumbling across it in general thanks to social media. in another universe i never would’ve known what the word “tretinoin” meant
