As the title says, I bought one of those aluminum valve cover replacements off of Amazon and installed it today.

My first valve cover’s diaphragm burst from the PCV system issue, so I got that CruzeKits PCV fix thing and got a new valve cover.

My second one started leaking oil pretty bad, so I got this new aluminum one and a new gasket to make sure there isn’t going to be any more warping issues.

Well, after I installed this third one, the Check Engine Light came on and the engine started having a rough idle. Sure enough, the CruzeKits plug that is supposed to cover the old check valve in the intake manifold has broken off. I guess the epoxy I had on there didn’t stay, or something of that sort.

So, my next steps are to plug that hole (again) and replace the valve cover. I guess I’ll also check the CruzeKits external check valve to make sure that’s not broken either.

I’m going to buy a new intake manifold (so it’s clean), then do that “ported intake manifold” upgrade (just gonna dremel the walls away myself), and plug that hole while it’s clean. This way, I can assure it’s dry and solid and have more confidence in it, plus I can port the intake manifold for the like 10whp boost.

My question to y’all is, do these aluminum valve covers have replaceable diaphragms? I saw there were screws on the inside of the valve cover. I am wondering if I need to buy a whole new one or if I can just swap those out. Just wondering if that was an upgrade added to these or if they have the same problem as the plastic ones.
