I’ve loved being a part of this community so so much, but all the cancer is really getting to me. Before Gordon, I lost both my previous rescue dogs to aggressive cancers. I had Toast for only 6 months before I lost him, and had Tula for 4 years before we lost her too. Both were seniors, but it didn’t matter and still felt so cruel and unfair.

Gordon is only 18 months and has healed my husband and I so much from the loss of our beloved angel dogs since we rescued him, but seeing how many Goldens get cancer and die young is giving me such extreme anxiety that I feel like I have to step away and focus on the time I have with him.

I hope for long lives for all the Goldens here, and send only healing and love to all those who lost their babies to cancer. This internet stranger has shed so many tears for you, and has hugged my boy extra tight for every single one of you.

❤️
