Hey CCW fam! Only got my permit a few weeks ago so still going through trial and error with my carry position. Was wondering if you guys have any advice or tips for me?
I carry a Taurus PT111 Millennium G2, grabbed an IWB kydex holster. I am about 5'8 170lbs, athletic build.
I am left handed and have mostly been carrying at 8 o'clock. This seems to be by FAR the most comfortable. Fits nicely in the angle of my hip and butt cheek. It also feels nice in my car/chairs when sitting down. Perfect little nook with the back corner of chairs imo. However, I find myself constantly adjusting the back of my shirt throughout the day. Will this feeling just go away with time? I constantly wonder if my shirt got caught and how I can avoid it printing. I have to avoid leaning forward and kneel instead. Does anyone have advice for 8 o'clock carry? I am probably overthinking it, but figured it doesnt hurt to ask the community.
Tried carrying at appendix and it just didnt feel right. Struggled to tie my shoe, stabbed me every time I sat/stood. And then sitting in a car, with my shirt and seat belt covering it, there is 0% chance I can pull it if needed. Am I missing something here? AIWB just seems like a nuisance.
I know routine and muscle memory are key, so I want to nail down my carry position sooner rather than later. Trying to find a preference and stick with it. Any tips, tricks, or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks and carry on
