Hello, my wife and I have been trying to potty train our now 4 year old daughter. I know it’s late but for about a year she wouldn’t even go near her potty so in the past couple weeks her being open to doing it has been a huge accomplishment for her. She will now actively sit on the potty all ready to pee but when it’s time to go, she won’t release any pee. She will hold the pee in to the point it hurts. Yesterday she went 7 hours holding it and then 6 hours today. She is terrified to pee in the potty. I’ve tried everything. Rewards both big and small, going to her favorite places, having her favorite dinners nothing is encouraging her to even release a drop of pee in the potty. When she finally does go it’s on the floor or in a diaper. When trying to move her to the potty while she release it on the floor she stiffens up and won’t go because she’s scared of peeing on the potty.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Again I know 4 is late but I’m just glad we are finally making steps to her peeing on the potty.
