RTX A2000 Display issues with SFFPC Thinkcentre M90q

Hello, I am setting up a thinkcentre m90q gen 1 with a RTX A2000 and running into some display issues. this might be a long post, so I will try to provide as many details as possible. I’ll start with the specs:

i5-10600t
16GB 2666mhz Ram (mismatched Samsung and teamgroup)
Western digital sn580 2tb nvme
RTX A2000 6Gb
PCIE riser part #5C50W00877
OEM Lenovo 230w power supply
Windows 11

When I first set it up, I connected it to my television with a mini display port to HDMI cable that was advertised with 4k@120hz but it would not exceed 4k 30hz. I downloaded nvidia app but it would not search for drivers. I manually downloaded nvidia studio drivers 596.36 and all windows updates. There was no change. Anytime I tried setting a resolution that didn’t work, I would get a distorted screen and a green screen. I could use the nvidia controller panel and setup 1080p 60hz (even 120hz) and 1440p 60hz with no issues.

I did some reading and thought it might have been my TV. Turns out the cable I got required hdmi 2.1 and the TV I have is 2.0 (shitty Black Friday TV from 2020). My bedroom TV is much newer and has hdmi 2.1, I plug it in and it runs 4k 120hz easily (I have not tested on this TV further and as I write this I might try tomorrow to compare to the living room TV). Anyways I placed it back on my living room TV and left it overnight.

In the morning it started immediately in 4k 60hz which I had not achieved before. I tried 3d mark to test some things and the PC would shut off and restart. I read and determined I would need to undervolt the card and landed on 850mv 1700mhz and it successfully completed many tests over 6100-6200 on timespy. For some reason the test would never open in full screen. Near the end of my testing I was ready to move onto games and the screen shut off and came back at 30hz again. Distorted screen and green screen anytime I would try to change it. With nvidia control panel custom resolution I couldn’t even get it to 60hz in any resolution. I again left it overnight.

I ordered a club 3d mini display port to hdmi adapter (hdmi 2.0 4k 60hz adapter). In the morning, before I got the new cable, it was still at 30hz but I could now again make a custom resolution and achieve 1080p/1440p 60hz. I used the display driver uninstaller and safe boot to remove drivers completely. I tested game ready 576.52 (read online others using this) and there was no change. The nvidia app now said an update was available but it was just the same studio driver 596.36. No change after this. I went to 3d mark and it now opens in full screen. I did some more benchmarks and game tests on re2 remake and got solid 60fps at 1440p high settings and it was amazing. I got the new club 3d adapter cable and it immediately supported 4k 60hz. Everything seems to be mostly fine, but I still definitely have problems. Half the time when I change any resolution or alt+tab, the screen distorts and is green before changing or crashing the game.

I tried Elden ring and for some reason it is clamped at 30fps no matter the refresh rate I set the display to and how low I set the graphics settings. I cannot play the game in windowed or borderless windowed, it always opens in full screen and crashes when I try setting it.

At this point I am thinking either the TV itself is too old or failing (has a history or hdmi issues, my desktop occasionally flashes the screen when connected. About every other time I turn it on it’s a black screen and I have to pull the power cable) or there is something wrong with the PC itself, hardware, power delivery, pcie riser or drivers… everything seems to be fine just can’t figure out some of these finer details with these games and the display. Whenever I benchmark or game the temps are great, GPU wattage doesn’t exceed 70w, cpu doesn’t exceed 40w.

Sorry for the long post, I am probably missing some details or steps I’ve taken, thanks for the help

I am looking to purchase a low profile single slot cooler for my RTX A2000 but it seems like the nerdware website is down (n3rdware.com). Is anyone aware of alternative means of contacting them to purchase the cooler? Thanks
