Hello everyone,
I am looking for some advice or reassurance because my girlfriend and I have been incredibly stressed lately regarding her delayed period. We have taken multiple tests, but the anxiety is really taking a toll on both of us.
Here is the exact timeline of events:
Feb 21: We had sex on the 4th day of her period. We used a condom, but I suspected some semen might have leaked
.
Feb 22: To be safe, she took an Unwanted 72 (emergency contraceptive pill) within 16 hours.
Feb 28: We had sex again using a condom (pulled out before ejaculation). A few days later, she experienced some stomach aches and spotted/bled twice, which we assumed were side effects of the emergency pill.
Mar 18: She got her period, but the flow was noticeably lighter than her usual cycles.
Apr 3: We had an encounter but there was zero penetration. It was only outer rubbing without a condom, and no ejaculation happened near her.
Apr 18: Her expected period date arrived, but her period never came.
Current Situation (May 1):
Her period is now nearly two weeks late. We took multiple home pregnancy tests (Prega News)—the most recent one was on April 26, which is over 21 days since our last encounter on April 3. All tests have shown a clear, definitive negative.
However, she is now experiencing some new symptoms:
Stomach Pain: Recently, her entire stomach was hurting (not just the lower pelvic area where period cramps usually happen).
My Questions:
Has anyone else experienced a severely delayed cycle or missed a month entirely after taking an emergency contraceptive pill like Unwanted 72, even after having a lighter period the month before?
Given that we are well past the 21-day mark since any activity, we trust the negative tests. But at what point should we stop waiting and go to a gynecologist to get medication to induce her period?
The stress is definitely delaying things further, so any shared experiences, advice, or reassurance would be massively appreciated.
Thank you!
