On Friday the 20th, our lives changed in an instant when our daughter was hit by a car while crossing the street as we were dropping off lunch for her mom. She was rushed to the hospital by ambulance, where the trauma team performed multiple scans and x-rays. Thankfully, she was cleared of internal injuries, but she suffered a broken right femur, a severely sprained left ankle, a frontal left skull fracture, and deep scrapes and bruises. Early the next morning, she was transferred to Children’s Hospital for surgery and is now in a full cast.
Her recovery will be long and challenging, with many appointments for therapy, physical therapy, and doctor check-ups ahead. The incident is still being investigated by local authorities, but through it all, our daughter remains in great spirits and is making the best of a very difficult situation.
Any donations given will help us cover her medical bills, transportation to her appointments and school, and support our family as we adjust to our new day-to-day life. Any support is greatly appreciated and our family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts.
**Update**
She started back to school last week! She has been making great progress and becoming more independent again. Starting to use her walker more now then her wheelchair. Able to slide out of my truck mostly on her own (I stand in front to make sure she dont slip). She got her cast off today! Going to be starting PT to get her strength back. We appreciate everyone's prayers, support and donations! It is amazing and helping us out tremendously!
