Dropped a basic gen 3 rotating assembly off at the machine shop. They quoted me 2-300 over the phone. Wait 3 weeks and I pick it up. They said it needed a lot more work to get properly balanced and practically doubled the original quote. I get it home and I’m looking it over and noticed some silica left from when they didn’t clean the weld before balancing. How much is the balance going to be affected after I remove the silica? Am I overthinking it and just send it? Obviously it’s basically little to no weight but in my brain when that motor spins to 7k it would make a difference
