Best way to get ride of mice while cleaning a cluttered room?

I’m embarrassed by this but my room has been cluttered for nearly 6 years due to mental health struggles. When my mom and brother mentioned they seen some mice in our house, I thought they couldn’t get into my room because it’s far away from the kitchen, I didn’t have any food in my room and it was cluttered. A few nights ago while on the phone with my friends I noticed something about the size of a roach come out of nowhere and jump from a box I have in my room and into the trashed floor. Because my lights were off and the only light source I had was from my tv, I just thought it was a huge roach. Couldn’t have been more wrong.

It wasn’t until I heard squeaking and the sound of something moving/knocking things over that it wasn’t a roach, but a MOUSE. I’ve started cleaning my room because I want them OUT. Me researching if mice go in cluttered rooms was the kick I needed. As I’m cleaning, what is the best way to catch these guys at the same time? I am absolutely not a fan of rodents and they need to be gone

NMom created a fireball and I lost my shit

Kinda sorta an update to a post I made previously on here about my mother and her witch craft shenanigans.

This woman is still acting looney and I’m losing my patience. My mom’s behavior has gotten worse. I’ve caught her talking to herself about my father, looking up videos on witchcraft on how to separate my father from his girlfriend, how to ruin someone’s life, ect. The videos she watches/listens to are ALL ai generated and made by trolls and people who want views, and while she’s not the sharpest tool in the shed you’d think she would come to her senses and realize that the stuff she’s watching/listening to is absolute garbage. NOPE! She’s THAT desperate to try and force my father to be single for her own selfish reasons.

A thing that’s involved in this ridiculous nonsense is candles. I’ve witnessed two massive house fires (neighbors) when I was a kid and I’ve been afraid of them ever since. Lit candles bother me, unlit candles do not. My mom will light these candles and will literally go to sleep with them burning and has tried to leave the house with them burning as well. (thank God for my sibling for snuffing them out)

More than once I’ve caught her sprinkling essential oils on and around the candles and I always tell her to stop doing that because it’s NOT safe. (This is important for later.)

Sibling and I were chatting in the living room when we both noticed mom lit one of her candles again. Ten seconds later we noticed the flame get bigger for about less than a second and when we both asked mom what she was doing, she just said she was just being a candle but there was this awful smell like something was burnt. So I asked her again, “Mom, WHAT are you doing? It smells like something is burning.” She admitted she burned a piece of paper. A few minutes go by and the same thing happens again, but the flame was MUCH larger than before. I’ve lost my patience at this point and I got up to see what she was doing.

Every time she burns a candle, sometimes multiples at the same time, she burns them in candle holders on a PLASTIC plate. Surrounded by random shit including salt. I’ve expressed to her several times that this wasn’t safe but she refuses to listen. The minute I walk over to her she grabs more salt, sprinkles it around the candle…AND THEN PUTS THE SALT DIRECTLY INTO THE CANDLE. The candle turned into what I can only describe as a fire ball. Sibling and I yelled at her to put it out, and then she poured water on it. The fireball got bigger and mom and I were almost burned. She manages to put it out but Oh my GOD I am throwing her shit away.

She’s not the best mom. She’s a pain in the ass but I can’t allow her to potentially unalive herself not matter how mad or sad she makes me. This whole incident happened a few hours ago and I just wanted to vent because I was bothering me. We are all okay thankfully
