If you are frustrated with modern dating apps and feel like your profile is completely invisible, this short playbook breaks down exactly how to fix it.

After getting crushed by the algorithms on Hinge, Bumble, and Tinder, I spent months reverse-engineering their hidden "desirability scores" to figure out how they sort and hide people. I built a system to bypass their code, posted it on Reddit (where it hit over 700,000 views), and turned the whole framework into this book.

This playbook covers:

  • The "Block to Filter" method to manipulate matching tiers.
  • Why a high-contrast black-and-white lead photo stops the swipe scroll.
  • How to trigger and exploit the algorithmic "Newbie Boost."
  • Exact messaging strategies to get off the app and on a date.

It is 100% free until Thursday, May 7th.

Hey guys. I see a lot of people on here getting frustrated with empty match queues and saying they are just going to "delete the app and take a break for a month."

After my divorce, I was in the exact same spot. I was completely invisible on Hinge and Bumble, getting zero matches, so I deleted them. I came back a month later, and... absolutely nothing changed.

I eventually realized why: taking a break doesn't erase your algorithm data. These platforms assign you a hidden "desirability score." If you tanked your score by blindly mass-swiping or using bad photos, the software permanently locks you in the "digital basement." Taking time off doesn't reset that code.

I decided to treat it like an engineering problem and spent months reverse-engineering the algorithms to figure out how to actually force a reset.

Here is what actually works:

  • Stop hitting "X": Instead of just swiping left, you need to use a "Block to Filter" method. Strategically blocking certain profiles forces the app to generate a completely new batch, bypassing the tier it trapped you in.
  • The Visual Disruption: Data shows that using a high-contrast or black-and-white lead photo stops the swipe-scroll instantly. This heavily increases the "time spent on profile" metric that the apps track to determine if you are interesting.
  • The Newbie Sprint: When you do finally reset your account, you have exactly 48 hours during the algorithmic "newbie boost" to prove to the software that your profile deserves to be seen by high-tier users before it locks your score in again.

Once I figured out the mechanics, I reset my score, got out of the basement, and met my wife less than a week later.

I originally wrote a Reddit post about this framework that hit over 700k views. I got so many messages from guys feeling just as defeated as I was, so I turned the whole system into a playbook called The Dating Equation.

Since the Reddit community helped me build this, I am giving the Kindle version away for completely free until Thursday, May 7th.

Don't let a software program dictate your self-worth. Good luck out there.

Hey everyone. I recently made a post here breaking down a strategy I used to beat the hidden "desirability scores" on apps like Hinge, Bumble, and Tinder.

Link to original post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/dating_advice/comments/1suanax/how_i_cracked_the_dating_app_algorithm_a_strategy/

I didn't plan to write a book. When I posted the method here, the response was surprising. I thought maybe a few people would be interested, but it hit almost 700,000 views with 6k+ shares and 95% upvotes. I got dozens of messages from guys who were experiencing the exact same thing. Normal guys who were getting their confidence crushed by a platform designed to keep them paying for boosts instead of actually getting them dates.

A lot of you asked for more details—photo strategies, exactly how the "Block to Filter" method works (I think, it’s still a bit speculative), how to handle the "Newbie Boost" sprint, and what to actually say when you match.

I wrote the book. It’s called The Dating Equation.

To be totally clear: this isn't some toxic "pickup artist" garbage, and it's not about tricking anyone. It's about outsmarting the software that is hiding you, so the real you actually gets a fair chance to be seen.
Since this subreddit is the literal reason this book exists, I wanted to make sure you guys get it first.

A lot of you said “what’s the catch?” When I updated the post to say I was going to publish a book, everyone said “ahh, there’s the catch.” Well for you all, today through May 7th, the Kindle version is 100% free. (This is the longest Amazon allows btw)

After the 7th, it goes to $2.99. If you prefer a physical copy, the paperback officially drops on May 9th for $9.99. I’m not really looking to make a bunch of money off of this, just hoping to get it out there.

You can grab the free eBook here: https://a.co/d/00iVVxJe

Thank you to everyone who commented, shared, and messaged me on that original post. You made me realize I wasn't the only one that was fighting the machine. If you read it, let me know what you think.

Good luck out there.
