This job is so stupid

Does anyone like the Tinkerer/Gadgeteer?

This job sucks so bad. Has a 50% chance to hit either every ally or enemy with a buff/debuff, and even then it only lands like 30-45% of the time.

I'm using one to get the Juggler job in FFTA2, and I thought, eh, I'm ahead a decent margin, why not?

Hit my own party with debuffs 3x in a row.

Try to switch it up and use a buff; hit the enemy party and almost all of em got it. 😐

I hope whoever made this job got a stern talking to, b/c this job is trash.

Started a new A2 save

Man, I forgot how much fun this game is.

I played and beat FFT WotL not very long ago; I felt pretty confident in my tactical experience so I tried Tactics Ogre again. Big mistake. I was getting through decently, but I was having such a miserable time and it felt like I was trying to force myself to enjoy the difficulty.

I decided to go back to A2 since I still have my DS copy handy. And the level of enjoyment is night and day.

I really liked FFT, even after beating the game I found myself really diving into the lore and characters a lot. But even after beating it I had no desire to keep playing. (I think my longest session for that game was like 4 hours.) I had to keep taking breaks from burnout.

With FFTA2 I just did a 7 hour session, and I'm addicted 😅 I had to force myself to stop playing it.

Some differences I noticed is that the battles take longer, but I don't mind it because we're not doing glass canon battles.

The job abilities being tied to items also was hard to get back accustomed to since you can't bring JP like FFT. In a way I'm kinda glad it's like this because I'm not forced to grind.

I really love all the map variations, and how you don't need to do random encounters because there are so many missions to do that feel much more rewarding.

At times WotL felt so oppressive, but this game feels like such a breath of fresh air. It's like going from Elden Ring to Breath of the Wild; similar games, but executed very differently.

This game is not very challenging at all, but yknow what, fuck it, it's way more fun imo.

I think after playing games for so long I'm kinda understanding what games I would willingly torture myself for, and I think tactics games are just not one of them.

Still loved WoTL, but the Advance Series just feels like home to me.
