I think it’s interesting. Mac had a submariner Rolex his grandpa gave him. He had a song called submarine. His late artwork was a submariner. He had the yellow submarine tattooed on his leg because that song by the Beatles got him through a bad acid trip. Synchronicity ❤️

The influence runs deep to his child hood. Artistically the ocean concepts are great material to work with.

Aberrant salience occurs when innocuous stimuli are assigned inappropriate significance, which is a major factor in psychotic illnesses, often linked to dopamine dysregulation. Ironically the narrowing of thought with cannabis does the same thing.

Someone asked why music and food and art get more interesting and fun when high. I explained how cannabis affects perception psychoactively or neurochemically. It boosts dopamine, GABA (in a biphasic response), Norepinephrine, and Serotonin. I’m sure there are others but these are what I learned about reading science papers.

We know that Serotonin makes sounds more audible, and color more vibrant as we increase it in the brain. This is commonly associated with mushroom psychoactive responses that people call the glow effect. Mushrooms sky rocket serotonin quickly. It happens with other drugs too like MDMA and even antidepressants.

I wondered what else could be causing the focusing effect. You know you smoke a bowl and suddenly your hyper fixating on things and stupid things become interesting and fun. I speculated it was probably a combination of serotonin and norepinephrine but this recent info I was reading is saying that it’s likely largely due to dopamine. Cannabis’s poly pharmaceutical nature is interesting. To a lesser degree coffee actually produces this narrowing of focus as well. My guess is that cannabis is much more stimulating on these dopamine receptors in addition to the unique poly pharmacy producing this almost psychedelic response.
