There’s an Element near me I keep seeing on a local dealer lot, I don’t know much about it yet, it’s a first gen awd probably an auto. I’m thinking about taking a closer look at it, what should I look for if I were to consider buying it? I know they have big issues with the rear suspension mounts rusting away, but is there anything else I should look out for? They want $5k, I’m in the middle of the rust belt. What kind of condition should I be looking for to make that price make sense?

I’m thinking about getting an LS460 but I don’t know a ton about them. I see they were made for roughly 10 years, so what are the big differences between them if any. Also reliability and maintenance wise, what should I look for? I don’t have any specific car I’m looking at now, just want to gather some knowledge on the platform. Curious as to how the LS600hL slots into all of this too if people know a lot about them.
