Just got my new grill, is this risky?

Just got my new grill, is this risky?

Just got and setup our new Napoleon Prestige 500 (2025 Edition) but the package was missing 4 items. All 4 caster supports, which means we can’t put the wheels or doors on. Reached out to the place I bought it from but since it is Friday, I don’t expect to hear back until Monday.

We are hosting a BBQ this Sunday, for Mother’s Day, so do want to be able to use it. Is there any risk to using it in this manner?

Preordered this from Walt’s directly and got it today. Arrived in perfect condition and very well packaged for traveling from Germany to the US!

Excited to read through this!

Some stats and context on my collection plus a wall of text, that will almost assuredly get me roasted are below. At the end of the day, I collect for me even if some others do it differently or find me odd for it!

I’ve been collecting physical media for a little over 2 years now. I started right after I saw Dune 2 in IMAX and wanted to recreate that same type of experience at home. Shortly after starting to buy regular 4ks, I learned about Steelbooks which hit my collector itch and I haven’t looked back since.

My collection is currently on shelves that I built and put into the closet of my movie room. I wanted to keep my movie room pretty minimal and close the curtain on my movies when watching something so all focus can be on the screen.

I have 172 Premium Slips (top 3 shelves) with 94 of them still being sealed and 78 of them being open. These are definitely less about the function of the movie and more about having a cool collectible item (in my opinion).

The next 4 shelves hold roughly 280 steelbooks. 100% of these are open and more my go to for watching, which is why there are some movies where I have a premium version and a regular steelbook.

All my steelbooks and premiums are in plastic protectors (Cine Grail for the premiums and RetroProtection for the steelbooks). If I’ve opened a premium slip then I also put the Steelbook that’s in the slip into a Steelbook bag before putting it back in to avoid scuffing.

I also do use white gloves, unironically, when handling the Steelbooks in premiums slips. I do not personally feel the need to wear them when I’m grabbing a regular Steelbook. Maintaining the quality of anything I collect is very important to me and honestly something I find quite enjoyable to be honest. My true hobby is probably organizing and protecting the things I own haha.

On top of what you can see, I also have ~120 regular Bluray and 4K amarays in my office. Of my 578 total owned movies, I’ve watched 339 of them (58.6% of them) and I do plan to watch all the rest! Collecting movies in this way has really reinvigorated my passion for movies. In the last 2.5 years, I’ve watched over 100 movies which is probably more than the entire previous decade combined for me!

I’ve collected and still do collect many things in my life and without a doubt the community around steelbooks (specifically the Steelbook Discord) has been the absolute best I’ve ever been part of! This community is filled with so many amazing and helpful people!

Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk!

Just finished a brick built display for my Big Figs, which made me release how few pieces I have haha as the inside of the display is a nightmare. These are in release order starting at the top left and going right, row by row. Of the modern shaped Big Figs, I’m only missing Killow and the new Moana Maui. I’m not counting the OG Castle trolls currently.

I need to build something for my bigger Big Figs in the second picture and still have quite a few of those to pickup. Still need to get both Harry Potter Mountain Trolls, Tremorox and Jabba from the UCS Sail Barge.

I also hope every year that they release more even if it is just new recolors of the Hulk, like we’re getting in the upcoming Spider-Man set!

Really happy with what I have currently and excited for a number of upcoming preorders. And just recently finished reading Zdarsky’s Daredevil run! It was amazing!

Hello all,

My partner has always had an interest and desire to grill and since we just purchased our first home a few months ago, she now wants to get a grill. Her preference would probably be a $500 grill from Lowe’s or Home Depot which I have no issue with but I really want to get something nice that will last the test of time. After many hours reading up on grills, I have decided I’m going to purchase a Napoleon for our first big grill.

A local Napoleon Grill retailer has the Non-2025 Phantom 500 Model for the same price as the new 2025 Prestige 500. Both are ~$2100 delivered and assembled. I’m leaning more towards the Non-2025 Phantom due to the cast steel grill grates.

I know the 2025 Prestige has better casters and slightly better Infrared (bigger) but I don’t think those are better than the Phantom Grates, although I know really nothing about grilling.

What would y’all choose and is this even a good price for either? I have also looked at secondhand marketplaces around me but can’t find any prestige 500 grill around me just some Rogues.

Thanks in advance!
