It never tasted like this back in the day. It tastes like 95% distilled vinegar (5% acidity) with 5% powdered cayenne pepper sprinkled in the vinegar. That vinegar taste is so overpowering.

Franks used to be so good in chili & mixed with butter in wings. Now? It's straight up garbage. That acidity is so high now it cuts through everything too easily. You could probably use the current day Frank's Red Hot as salad dressing though. Use it as the vinegar then add extra virgin olive oil. Same thing as a normal salad dressing.
