I love science. I loveeee breastfeeding. I also love using plants and food as medicine when appropriate.

I currently have a 3m old with RSV. He’s on day two and I know there’s potential to get worse. We‘re constantly running the humidifier, nasal spray/suction as needed, lots of snuggles. We’re letting the fever do its thing unless it reaches 102. I got the RSV vaccine when I was pregnant, so that’s great. I’m going to start taking a vitamin D supplement instead of giving him the drops, which I should have already been doing. (This method has been proven effective). Also a probiotic to help me produce more IgA.

Is there anything else I can do for him? Bath soaks, oils, etc?

Is there anything I can be doing for myself to help him as a breastfeeding mother? When I get sick I usually try to pack in foods with anti inflammatory/batcerial/etc properties. I just don’t know how much of these things cross into the milk.
