Repair work for trade in

I have a 2023 Subaru forrester. Recently I began having trouble with the brakes an after a lot of money trying to figure out what was going on it was determined that the brake booster and master cylinder was broken. The car was out of warranty so I called the Subaru customer cares line and asked if they would consider supplying me with the part for free given the relatively young age of the car to need such extensive repairs. They basically said that since I decided not to risk my life driving it an extra 30 minutes to the nearest certified Subaru repair place they would not. I am feeling done with this experience and would consider trading in my Subaru and an older Honda civic that I also have and just buying a new car (definitely not a Subaru). I have literally had my Honda since 2009 and had never had any issues at this level. Does it make sense to get the repairs done now or just trade in as is?
