Description:
The Listening Maze is a spatial audio maze game where you navigate entirely by sound. You're dropped into a pitch-black maze with no visual map, your only tool is echolocation. Tap to send a sound pulse into the darkness, and listen for the echo bouncing off the walls. A quick echo means the wall is close. A slow echo means open space ahead. You turn, ping, listen, and build a mental map entirely in your head.
The game uses Apple's HRTF spatial audio rendering, so with headphones, echoes actually come from the correct direction in 3D space around you. There's also haptic feedback, different vibration patterns for walls, collectibles, and the exit. It features 120 campaign levels across 6 difficulties (from 4x4 beginner mazes to 14x14 shaped mazes like crosses and diamonds), a daily challenge with Wordle-style shareable score cards, and an endless mode with increasing difficulty. Best experienced with headphones and closed eyes.
