Rattle after gasket change

I recently replaced the upper timing belt cover gasket (left bank) on my 540i and since then it has a rattle on start up. It goes away after a minute or so. Car ran fine before the new gasket

The only mechanical part I had to remove was the vanos solenoid to be able to remove the timing cover but I thought I had replaced it correctly. Could that be my issue? When the cover was removed I checked the timing chain and it seemed good with no slack.

I haven't driven the car more than round the block so would this go away when the oil pressure returns fully to the solenoid?

Any other ideas on what it might be?

I want this put my car across the pits/inspection in WA but I need a new tyre first. Do I have to stick to the recommended tyre size on the placard (265/35r18) or can I use a 255/40 instead assuming the speed and load ratings were the same

edit: rims are 18x9

Heres a pic of my old st165. It's the only car I've owned that I really miss. I sold it in 2024 I think.

It had St205 running gear and brakes with compomotive rims. Last I heard it was in Sydney

Anyone recognise it?
