PLM forfeited my slot without my knowledge

Hello! As the title suggests, PLM forfeited my slot on BSEd nang hindi ko alam because, apparently, I didn't show up daw sa scheduled pre-enrollment ko. If they were referring to the medical, I showed up on the day of the appointment at lahat ng requirements ko were also uploaded and submitted. When they gave out the paper for the request of form 137 (last step during physical examination), they told me to wait for an email regarding when to submit the copies of my other requirements from my school.

A few weeks later, no email came so akala ko I should just wait until they gave me an advisory. Then, just yesterday, they emailed me na na-forfeit na raw yung slot ko dahil hindi ako nagpakita during my pre-enrollment. Immediately, I checked my spam kung may email ba pero wala. Meron din namang sufficient storage yung email ko so I knew it wasn't because of that.

Tapos ngayon, my friends just received their emails regarding the next step of the pre-enrollment. They were scheduled for June 3rd, afaik. I asked them if they did anything different during the physical exam and they said no naman. Ang sabi rin sa kanila was to wait for an email. I checked my email + the website again to see if I missed their announcement but there were none.

The email sent to me said to appeal for my slot if may concern on or before May 15 but honestly, sobrang na-frustrate lang ako so I decided to forfeit it na lang. I hope someone who's deserving and compassionate about BSEd Science is able to get my slot. Good luck, future Haribons!

Should I pursue my Ateneo scholarship or go with UPM?

Hi! As the title suggests, I've been accepted into ADMU under AB Philo, as well as BS Bio in UPM. I know that they're two very different disciplines so I'm facing a big concern right now.

With ADMU, it became my dream school because of the environment as well as the students there (based on my observation, they're really nice and know how to get along naman). For context, I was also accepted for a 75% scholarship; I've consulted my parents and they said it was doable naman pero siyempre iba pa rin yung full-ride. Moreover, I chose AB Philo because of the subject in SHS—sobrang na-humble ako ng IntroPhilo (as in I had to really exert effort to get satisfied sa grades ko) kaya I chose it among my programs in ADMU because of the challenge and passion I felt. Naturally, may pressure din sa akin because of my rationale behind—I'm willing to put effort into the program naman but what if it's not for me?

UPM, on the other hand, offers me a more "practical" program. Though kind of misleading, BS Bio isn't technically my "dream" program, pero ito yung pinakanaging priority ko. I chose it because I was interested in science and I can proceed with med school if I want to become a doctor in the future. Also, mas linear path siya as a STEM student compared to Philosophy. Ang problem ko lang is I super struggle with the independent system that UP encourages among its students. Even yung enlistment wherein nagkakaroon ng prerog is anxiety-inducing for me. Ang takot ko naman dito, baka nga ma-enjoy ko yung program pero maubos ako sa brutality ng environment (based on my family and friends' experience).

Siguro I'll admit that I'm looking for something na mas magiging "baby" ako kaya naging fantasy ko yung ADMU. It's also a way for me to "start" with a clean slate (in Katipunan) since I'll be farther away from my home kaysa sa UPM.

So, what do you think should I do? Should I submit my requirements in Ateneo or go a different route with UPM?

Hello, as the title suggests I'm currently having conflicts regarding my college plans for the next few months. Both Ateneo and UP have been my top universities to get into ever since senior high, but I didn't expect that I'd pass both (I thought none or one of the two lang). However, I'm still waiting sa scholarship results ng ADMU since that's also my concern.

Anyway, I would consider ADMU to be more of my dream university in terms of the campus, student environment, as well as curriculum. Ang UP naman, I like it because I like science and it's their forte.

I just want to know if it's worth it to choose ADMU over UP even if hindi ko priority yung AB Philo—especially as a STEM student na medyo malayo ang career path if ever. Would it be significantly harder for me or bearable kaya ang program even if science/math-focused ang SHS strand ko?

Kabado lang po siguro ako since it's heavily focused on readings + orals daw—I can say that I'm 'okay' or somewhat above average sa ganong klaseng discussion nung old school ko but what if it doesn't translate to ADMU's curriculum huhu

Yung UP daw kasi, more on lectures and exams—since I took STEM, definitely mas naging forte ko yun but ang concern ko naman ay yung environment (both the vicinity of UPM as well as the internal environment na medyo toxic daw).

Sana po may makatulong, thank you!
