AMEDD CAPTAINS CAREER COURSE NOT NEEDED?? ENGINEER TURNED MSC OFFICER
I’m a National Guard officer 1LT (prior-Engineer) in a 70E slot (newly accessed to AMEDD), currently attending the RC AMEDD Captains Career Course, Phase 1, after having already completed the logistics CCC (Phases 1, 2, and 3) approximately 2 years ago. I was informed by an instructor that I only need to attend Phase 1 of the AMEDD CCC and that, since I previously completed the LOG CCC, I do not need to complete the AMEDD CCC, as my prior completion may have covered its curriculum. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Did you still need to do Phase 2 or Phase 3? I want to ensure that I am not wasting my time or unit funding by attending courses that do not add value to my job role, such as the PAD or MRO courses, once Phase 1 is complete. They also mentioned a DL portion that was to be completed for attendance prior to phase 1; however, I did not complete one (maybe because of LOG CCC).
I wanted to ask, as I noticed that AMEDD CCC contains MAJ’s, which was weird to me initially (I know that AMEDD is a specialty branch). When I was an engineer attending LOG CCC, there were no MAJs, and CCC was required to qualify for MAJ.
Anything helps!
