So a few months I was down home (live in Dublin but from a farm down South) and my parents live in the house and brother owns and manages the farm and technically owns the house as well. He lives in nearby village with his wife but his job is literally at home so he’s there 75% of the time if not more depending on time of the year. My mother of course cooks most dinners for him and does a shit ton of stuff for him (nearly 40 btw) but he can be quite aggressive and impatient with her over tiny things and same with my Dad about the farm, he flies off the handle easily because god forbid someone criticises him etc. anyways when I was down at the weekend, I was working on my work laptop that morning and he can barrelling into the room for no reason and I was like Im on a call get out, later that day he is being impatient with my parents about something small and I say you need to chill and take it handy and he let rip calling me all sorts of nasty names including a fucking tramp, told me to fuck off out of the house and never come back, cos he owns it and I am not welcome, told me he would kill me the next time he sees me, told me I bully our parents and our sister (me and her haven’t always gotten on but it’s genuinely cos we are dif and she’s always been a bit jealous of me, I’m the youngest and shes the eldest so obvs I’m a baddie 😂) and basically fuck off back to Dublin no one wants you here etc. Now my parents witnessed the entire thing so gas lighting cannot be done, I was left in tears and felt genuinely unsafe and wanted to ring the Guards but alas I did not, I just got the FUCK out of there and haven’t spoken to him since/he’s not rang to apologise. Now the big thing is, my folks are annoyed I won’t go home and visit them and saying that “why should they get punished ?” I was just like ah hello you saw what he said, your problem is with him not me. He threatened to kill me, they can visit me anytime in Dublin have a spare room and my Mam comes up a lot anyways but how is it fair to go back there after all that verbal abuse??! 😢
