Venting & Guidance?

Venting I guess? Maybe some guidance? Our Dad is 80 & we did the first part of his memory testing. Results came back as early level 6 and positive blood test for Alz. We go back on the 21st for his official diagnosis. Since then, he has randomly purchased a trailer (in a horrible area) and decided to move into it with zero help. He has lost his driver's license and still drives around when he shouldn't and his wife is a worthless drug user/alcoholic that he refuses to leave. She does not take care of him at all. He was in a place where he was actually being cared for, fed, helped with meds... Now completely on his own. We've been trying to help him out with as much as possible, but you all get how hard it is. Does anyone know that when we do get his official diagnosis, we can actually do something? We have POA now but at the initial appt she asked if it was active? I'm assuming no. He doesn't bathe, still wearing the same clothes from weeks ago, doesn't cook or remember to take his meds... Back to smoking cigarettes even though he has COPD and half a lung missing. I just don't know. What can we do?
