Hi everyone! I am looking for some advice. For context I have type 2 rosacea with pustules, diagnosed around Feb of last year. Last year after diagnosis I tried soolantra which definitely improved my moisture barrier but did nothing for my pustules or redness, I used it for approx 5 months and didn’t bother to get a new prescription as it hadn’t worked. After that I had a pretty traumatic rest of the year so my skin journey went completely on the back burner, but I have several important events happening this year I have been trying to get control back over my skin. I’ve been using Rozex (metronidazole) since mid Feb, and am not really seeing any differences.
I read on here about Sulfur soap and purchased that, but I think it caused me to flare up. I’ve only used it twice, so wondering if anyone else has had this experience and if it’s just an initial gets worse before jt gets better sort of thing? I’ve also recently incorporated hypochlorous acid spray into my routine, I use this after cleanser and before I use rozex.
I was thinking of asking my doctor to go on antibiotics so I can at least have semi clear skin for these events but I wanted to ask a few questions from those who have used them. Did they work for you? If so, how quickly do they work and how long have you stayed on them? Have you had any bad side effects?
Thanks in advance for any advice, I try not to let my rosacea bother me usually but I am struggling at the minute and I guess I’m desperate for something to work.
Edit: typo it’s hypochlorous acid spray I’m using and not hydrochloride
