Mostly just sharing, I don’t really have a question other than has anyone seen one like this before?

It’s the only one in the house, in a baseboard in the living room. It was working fine until I put in a new main panel and killed the KnT feeding it.

I’m still working on the new receptacle circuit for that room but plan on keeping it if it doesn’t fall apart when I try to connect it to the new romex.

Working on a diy full rewire of a 120 yr old house. Existing wiring when I bought it was a mess of KnTc cloth 2 wire, some with a bare ground added alongside it later, armored, plastic jacket no ground early romex (something I’d never seen before) and a few light gauge stranded extension cords fished through the walls to add outlets!

These all worked fine connected to the KnT. I replaced a rusty, moldy metal box with a new plastic old work box, and am working on fishing romex for the new downstairs lighting circuit from the new panel to and between two wall boxes and to the ceiling light locations.

Can I reuse these? Two are single pole, and two are three ways that will have new modern switches another box across the room.

Is it an issue that I replace the (theoretically) grounded metal box with a plastic one? Is there a way to ground them by somehow connecting the new ground to the heavy brass faceplates? Reusing the really cool original faceplates (a 4 gang and a 2 gang) is my primary goal, as well as not spending $150 on six repro push button switches if these are safe to reuse.

If it matters. I replaced the main panel and put in dual function GFI/AFI breakers for this circuit and almost all of the others as well.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Edited to add - how do I delete one inadvertent and irrelevant pic from a post? lol
