I'm taking my nearly 2 years old abroad to visit my parents in June. We still use the baby monitor at home even if we can hear her when she is in her room. It's mainly for when she falls asleep so I can see if she settles by herself or needs help.

I'm travelling on my own with her and trying to not pack too much and I thought I didn't need to take the monitor, but my husband thinks she (well I really) will miss it as we still rallie on it.

My parents live in a bungalow and we'll sleep in the same room so she won't be on her own overnight, just when she naps and falls asleep at night. We can hear her as the house is small.

Has anyone done something similar and just skipped the monitor ?
