I’m a complete beginner getting into triathlon and just signed up for my first Ironman (70.3 this year). I’ve been riding casually but now need a proper road bike for serious training.
I’m looking at the Canyon Ultimate CF SL 7 AXS. Here are my questions:
- Is this bike actually good value at the $4000 price?
- Will it be capable enough for Ironman training and racing.
- Should I stretch my budget now and get a higher model (CF SLX, BMC, etc.) so I don’t have to buy another bike in 2-3 years?
I like the idea of starting with something solid and modern, but I also don’t want to overspend if this bike is already perfectly fine for what I need.
Any advice would be appreciated!
