Using a throwaway account. I'm sorry if I put the wrong flair as well, new to this sub.

I received a letter in the mail today from Discover (a credit card agency) about a merchant settlement, saying I can submit a claim. It is a court approved claim form and I looked it up online, but I have a couple of, frankly a bit embarrassing, questions.

The most important part of the letter I feel is: "If you accepted or processed Discover credit cards between 2007-2023, you could be eligible to get a payment from a class action settlement."

My main question is that the letter is addressed to an alias I used to use while selling "spicy" content. I had an OF and a few other platforms where I sold my content, faceless and as anonymous as I could be, to help me get money for college and living expenses. It was 100% legal as I was 18 when I started the account, and around 20 or 21 when I was finally stable enough to stop doing that type of content. I'm 23 now, so based on the dates in the letter I understand where I would qualify as that's the most likely time I've received payments from people using a Discover account. It's not associated with my legal name or anything, and I'm sure some people have used credit cards to buy my stuff while it was available, but I have no way of knowing that as I mainly accepted PayPal and whatever the other platforms were using.

I guess my biggest question is would it be legal for me to join this settlement? It's not addressed to my legal name, and the form is a bit confusing. Obviously it would be nice to get some money back if I lost it to improper processing, if I understand it correctly, but it's been a couple of years and I don't have a ton of info from that time period in my life.

The form has a spot for legal name and a DBA (doing business as) name, and asks if I'm a franchisee or franchisee, and whether I processed or accepted discover credit cards on behalf of other businesses, and I'm just completely lost.

Any help would be appreciated, I'm just a bit lost and don't know if I can even do this without getting in trouble with it being technically addressed to my alias and not to "me" specifically. I don't know. Help, please!
