Am I overreacting or my partner has a point?
Did you ever break up with a partner for the fact she had gained weight? I mean more than just overweight. My partner is 48 and I am 27 for context.
I had a discussion with my partner and he said he would break up with a partner for this reason. He said that he never had partners that were overweight and it makes me really concerned. I have gained weight, visibly so but I don't want to lose my partner if I continue to gain weight. It's very much tied to stress and hormones and but I don't want to live scared that if I don't meet these standards I'll be single. My partner is very kind and honest and to be honest, I asked for this type of honesty. I asked if there is attraction still which there is but he did say he preferred the way I used to look until this moment to what I look like now. I just didn't expect I'd have to meet this level of expectation as in the past I did gain weight (not as much as now) and our attraction stayed the same.
Any advice?
