Know anyone who wants to be a Mobile Bike Mechanic?

Hi everyone! We are putting out some feelers to expand our small-but-mighty team of two by adding a part-time bike mechanic. Yes, this is somewhat of a job posting, but I thought word of mouth could go a long way in connecting us with the right fit. It's a pretty cool gig, but it's proving too niche for indeed and craigslist.

About the role: Likely around 10-20 hours a week ($20-30/hr DOE), but a very flexible schedule. Perfect for someone already in the service industry, a student, or someone looking for extra income over the summer. All work is completed in our fully-equipped mobile service van, which has a home base in Central Tacoma. Appointments take place at the customer's home, workplace, or out in the Tacoma/Pierce County community. We also frequently partner with local organizations for events and provide technical support at events like Seattle-to-Portland!

We aren't searching for flashy credentials. Having kind customer interactions and a strong work ethic are our main priorities. Must be competent AND confident working on a variety of bikes (including e-bikes), and maintaining a strong rapport with the community and our customers. Clean driving record is a must.

If this sounds like you, or someone you know, please reach out! We encourage you to share widely with your friends, neighbors, or that guy who is always repairing bikes in his garage.

P.S. If you live slightly outside of Pierce County, but have a vehicle that can transport bikes, a home workspace (garage, basement, spare room, studio, etc.), and experience with bike repair, let us know.
