About 6 weeks ago I had what was diagnosed as Gastroenteritis. I had diarrhea and vomiting and was treated with antibiotics for 7 days. The doctor wasn’t sure if it was bacterial or viral.

Since then, I’ve gradually improved, but I’ve had lingering symptoms:

Fluctuating bowel habits (some days normal, others more frequent)

Occasional urgency

Gas and bloating

Mild pelvic/lower back discomfort (especially at night)

Mucus in stool (sometimes mixed, sometimes separate, sometimes just on wiping)

My symptoms clearly flare with coffee.

Still, my freccuency going to the bathoroom ahs gone down (some days 2 times, some days 3–4) Mucus has decreased overall.

But the last couple of days I have had some harder stools (almost like mild constipation, small pieces) and also had some anal irritation and feeling "full".

Then today I made a mistake of taking a coffee and later went into the bathroom -photo attached- and I don't even know if that is mucus or what that even is, on the right side of the stool.

Scheduled doctor appointment for next week, but appreciate any info in the meantime if there is something I need to watch for.

Ty in advance
