Reality of buying a house in Germany

Both my wife and I make good enough money after living here for 10 years to buy a house. We have a letter from the bank saying we can buy and everything. The issue comes down to the realtors here. The second they hear your accent or see you are a non-German, they don’t respond for over a month and give 1000 excuses to not let you see the property (and you can’t give an offer without seeing it). Then send a message like this!! No matter how hard you work to integrate, to be a good citizen, to be a good person, it will never be enough and “real” Germans will continue to try and find ways to keep you down and never allow you to get ahead.

Info: my first message was sent in March, continued to call and send emails all of April and was told they would call me or email me back tomorrow with an appointment. This email comes on the 9th of May.

This is the 9th house that we have been outright pushed away from just like this. 7 other houses we put bids on that were above asking price and never heard from them as it is always the realtor that gets to choose in the end who can buy…. It’s a messed up system here.

So I’ve been a huge litrpg fan for years. I had to move from the US to Germany some years ago and Hoopla has been my best friend. However I would like to get more audiobooks in some series like Completionist Chronicles or The Ten Realms. It seems like I am stuck with either buying it via the Apple bookstore or Audible. Either way makes me feel a bit trapped as I don’t feel like I really own it at restricted to their platform. Is there any other way to buy the actual file so I could put them on an MP3 player or something when I go to workout or start construction on my house?
