My partner and I just moved into a new apartment in Edinburgh. The entirety of the apartment was pretty dirty when we moved in and our toilet room was no exception. It reaks pretty bad and we think this is the cause. I know this is the sewage drain but why does it look this way? What is the thing coming up from the floor that surrounds it? Is this mold? Was it a bad instalation job? More importantly, is it safe to clean ourselves or should we have a profesional take a look? I'm almost afraid to ask.
