I’ve decided I’m probably going to start selling off some of my Kobe collection. Honestly never thought I’d say that because collecting these has been a huge hobby of mine for years, especially with basketball being such a big part of my life.

A lot of these pairs were pickups I hunted for, traded for, or grabbed while traveling for work, so there’s definitely some attachment there. But at the same time, it’s hard to justify keeping this much money sitting on a shelf when I’m trying to focus more on long-term goals.

Not panic selling or trying to dump everything at once — just testing the waters and seeing what makes sense to move. Some pairs I’ll probably never let go, but others I’d consider for the right price.

Anybody else ever get to the point where collecting started feeling more like an investment than just a hobby?

Picked up two new pairs today while I was in Columbus and had to share this one 👀

Grabbed the Kobe 6 Protro All-Star (size 14) from Sole Stop, and then randomly found a pair of Kobe 11 Elite Fade to Black Protros just sitting on the shelf at Foot Locker. Didn’t expect that at all.

Weird thing though — the Kobe 11 sizing threw me off big time. I tried a 14 like I wear in all my other Kobes (Kobe 4, 5, etc.) and it felt way too big. Ended up going down to a 13, and it still feels a little roomy in the toe box.

Anyone else run into this with the Kobe 11s? All my other Kobes are size 14 and usually fit snug, so this caught me off guard.
