Roborock Saros 20 Sonic obstacle avoidance bad on carpet

Hi,
I recently bought Saros 20 Sonic and did some difficult tests on my hard wood floor and carpet. The obstacle avoidance doesn’t work on carpet at all :/

Anyone has the same experience? I am willing to return it and buy something else (from competitor)

The firmware is newest

Hi 👋

I need to buy a new vacuum and can’t decide whether I should go for the sonic version or one with spinning pads.

I have an oiled hardwood floor. I’ve read that spinning mops (like in the Saros 10R) — even on lower water settings — tend to leave more water on the floor than vibrating pads. I’m also concerned about the possibility of leaving swirl marks.

Currently, I have the Roborock S7 Max Ultra and don’t have any experience with spinning mops :/

Questions to owners of Saros 20 and Saros 20 Sonic:

  • Is the obstacle avoidance good on the sonic version? I can’t find any reliable reviews for it. I’ve read that the Saros 20 has an additional sensor (VertiBeam), so it might be as good as the 10R (Saros 20), but I’m not sure how it compares in practice.
  • Does the Saros 20 leave the floor wet? Anyone here with hardwood floors?
