A Game That Feels New and Not Derivative? Maybe exploration focused…

So i just can’t find a game that holds my attention these days. Maybe someone can provide a suggestion. I tend to like exploration and worlds that feel organic. However, a suggestion for any type of game is good. Doesnt have to be open world.

My gold standard: subnautica.

If you know it and love it, you know why. It’s my fave game ever, by a large margin.

Games I’ve really liked:

Dredge

Obra dinn

Elden ring and dlc

Red dead redemption

The og Stalker

EU3

Great games i couldn’t get into:

Ghosts of tukishima

Cyberpunk 2077

Pacific drive

Death stranding

Dead space

Outer wilds (hated the loop, sorry : )

Returnal.

Clair obscura: don’t get the love for it. Combat mostly seems about the Quicktime mechanic, and pressing buttons with the right timing.

Platformers in general

Haven’t played but…:

Baldurs gate: looks awesome. But I’ve played the 2 Divinty games. Really like them, but looking for something different.

The new europa universals: I just don’t know if I can go down this path, and willingly subject myself to 12 hour long gameplay sessions that I just can’t stop…
