Hello! I just finished the Camino from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela roughly a week ago. It was a beautiful experience as I was able to do it with my mom. I am 26 she is 64.
I’ve been back home for the past few days and my feet still hurt! I can walk well. My blisters are healed. But, the actual arches of my feet still ache.
It’s made getting back to the gym difficult and standing for long periods of time to cook or clean ends with my feet aching again.
I was worried because I did walk around 4 miles in just socks once my shoes became too painful with the blisters. But my mom says her feet still hurt too.
Does anyone have a similar experience or any tips and tricks on how to speed up the healing. I’m so excited to get walking again and enjoying nature but the pain is making it hard.
Thank you. Buen Camino
Edit!
Thank you so much for all the advice! I’ll have to look into plantar fasciitis and seeing a foot doctor. Actually this makes a lot of sense since my mom flat footed. I thought it was weird because the rest of my body was completely fine during the camino but only my arches were hurting.
