Verification Needed

Good morning Xfinity. I could use your help.

Previously I was paying $65.00, 1000 mbps with 1.2TB allotment. The last two months I exceeded the allowed data. I contacted customer service and was informed no plans exist within in my budget for 1000mbps and unlimited data. The representative led me to downgrade to 500mbps and unlimited data for 71.00 per month. I was sent a XB7 gateway.

This past Sunday my service was not operating using my own equipment. There was no outage occurring at the time. I remembered receiving the XB7 and installed it. Everything worked except my NETGEAR WIFI range extender AC1900 and Peacock Premium. I contacted customer service again with these two concerns.

I was informed my WiFi range extender is not compatible (Netgear confirmed it is) and that Peacock Premium was only given with the 1000mbps tier. This information was not shared previously and honestly speaking I was annoyed. Peacock Premium is such a small thing, but after being a customer for 17 years the only changes allowed are for more money per month. Because I have dead zones and cameras outside I need an extender in order to have proper connection. I was told I need a Xfinity extender for $120 if I want better coverage in the dead zones or upgrade to WiFi Pro for $110 per month.

I explained that I originally wanted 1000mbps and unlimited data. She said I “qualified” for 1000mbps, unlimited data, Peacock Premium, Disney+, Hulu and ESPN for $85.00 including all taxes. After looking at my estimated charges of $177.10, I am concerned that I am not paying what was agreed upon. Additionally, after reading posts in this forum it seems to be that I should have a different gateway for the 1000mbps (XB8 or higher?).

I am hoping you can confirm the cost of plan I have, can I use my WiFi extender, should I be using a different gateway and that the services I think I have are in fact true.

Thank you for your help ☺️.
