Roommate and laundry
So my roommate is really weird about laundry and idk how to have this conversation. To start I’m not perfect I definitely have left things over an hour in the dryer but it’s gotten weird. It started when she left her clothes in the dryer for almost a week. I have adhd and forget things easily so I kept trying to remember to ask her in person but I would forget but it went on for a week until I ran out of clothes and my work uniform so I moved her things. Also 9/10 if I move her thing I put them back in the dryer. So anyways I began to feel like she would wait for me to do my laundry so she could move my clothes to the top of the dryer. Like let’s says I start a load in the dryer and run to the store I’ll be gone 2 hours max and when I come back my clothes will be on top of the dryer still warm. I made sure to start doing my laundry after her and then she would move my clothes to wash towels orr blankets. In the middle of the night. Like I make a conscious effort to keep my things out of the way and they are still moved. Her stuff however will stay in the dryer for days. So I did an experiment to make sure. I left her clothes in the washer to see if she would ever move them and only did my clothes at night or when she wasn’t home. This went on for over two weeks and her clothes stayed the laundry room. I started the load this morning and I knew when I came home if she beat me they would be on top of the dryer. Lo and behold I come home and my clothes are on top of the dryer still warm. It feels weird because it wasn’t even a reason to get upset to me but it feels catty and I often miss social cues like this and I have to make sure before I address things. I just don’t know how to address this. Also I had another load to do and her clothes are sitting wet in the dryer not even started. Is it even worth addressing like at this point I know it’s intentional and I’ll just wait for her to leave to do laundry again. It’s not that big of a deal I just don’t want someone touching my laundry.
