B840M DS3H crashing only on cold boot

Hi, as the title says, I’m having a pretty annoying cold boot issue. Basically, the PC works perfectly fine with full performance (I ran several performance tests multiple times and everything is within average/expected results), but for some reason, somewhere between every two days to two weeks, the PC crashes when I turn it on after it has been shut down overnight.

I ran MemTest86+ overnight twice and several OCCT tests, and nothing detected any performance or RAM issues. I’ve also reseated the RAM sticks around 5 times at this point.

I’ve been using the last three BIOS versions — F9, F10a, and F10b — and I have the same issue on all of them. Right now I’m testing F7 because I think it’s the most stable one so far.

Is this a common issue, or is there something defective with my PC? Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Everything I tested and passed without issues:

  • MemTest86+ overnight
  • OCCT tests: Power, CPU + RAM (Large data set, Extreme mode, Variable load type), Linpack 2021
  • Cinebench 2024, R23, and FurMark for stress testing
  • 3DMark Time Spy, Nomad, and Unigine Superposition to test the system

System:

  • RTX 4070 Super
  • Ryzen 5 7600
  • 32 GB Fury Beast DDR5 5600 MT/s
  • B840M DS3H
  • Gigabyte UD 1000W 80+ Gold

Hello, unfortunately I have a fairly uncomfortable problem for someone with no knowledge of overclocking. The XMP profile of my RAM doesn’t work properly, causing stuttering in some games. I know that requesting an RMA over an XMP profile is probably pointless and unlikely to be accepted since the product works fine without it, but I’d like to know if there’s anything I can manually adjust to make it work properly.

The RAM is a Kingston Fury Beast rated at 5600 MT/s. I’ve experienced crashes when booting Windows from a cold start with that 5600 MT/s profile enabled. My goal is at least to stabilize those 5600 MT/s. I don’t have external RAM cooling and I don’t want to dive deep into overclocking, I just want the PC to run properly.

I’ve already tried updating my BIOS and chipset drivers, and none of that seems to stabilize the 5600 MT/s factory setting. Please, if you could explain it to me in simple terms, I’d really appreciate it. Thank you very much.

As the title says, I am having a strange problem with my PC. For some reason, for a few months now, every between one and one and a half months I get at least one BSOD when I turn on my PC. It does not crash when I am gaming, only when I turn it on after it has been idle for hours.

So far I have tried everything my knowledge could help with. I reinstalled Windows, updated all my PC drivers, from the GPU and chipset all the way to the BIOS, as well as Ethernet and audio drivers. I also ran MemTest86 for about 6 to 7 hours, and during this period I even changed my GPU, before replacing it the issue was also happening, so I have ruled out the GPU as well.

In addition to the BSOD issues, I’m experiencing some very strange stutters in certain games that are really annoying. I’m maintaining a high FPS rate, but my 1% lows have terrible spikes.

Honestly I do not know what to do. Fortunately, all my components are under RMA, but ideally I would like to know which part is failing before having to send everything in for inspection. If anyone has any ideas, they are welcome.

Motherboard: B840M DS3H
GPU: RTX 4070 Super
CPU: Ryzen 5 7600
RAM: 32 GB DDR5 Kingston Fury Beast
OS: Win. 11 25h2

Games with stuttering: Payday 2, Battlefield 1, Warhammer Dakrtide.

Hi, I’m having a problem with Payday 2. For some reason I’m getting terrible stuttering in this game, could it just be my PC?

Things to keep in mind: I play titles that are 15 times more demanding like MGS Delta, Helldivers 2, and Battlefield 6, and I don’t get this horrible stuttering in any of them. I’ve tried lowering all graphics settings to minimum, enabling and disabling VSync, changing CPU core affinity from 0 to 3 and nothing works. It would be great if someone could help me out or tell me if it’s a game issue, or if there’s a mod to fix it.

RTX 4070 Super, with the latest NVIDIA drivers (it also happened with previous drivers; I’ve already used DDU several times)
Ryzen 5 7600
32 GB DDR5 RAM
The game is on an SSD
My BIOS is updated to the latest version, as well as my chipset drivers.
