Hi, a quick introduction: I'm looking to purchase either a 2018/19 e220d (with updated steering and hey Mercedes) or a 520d luxury line 2018/19.
I don't need help choosing either of these because both seem fit and I'm planning on going ahead with whichever one I get first in the condition i require.
Both cars have their own perks and let down, but my problem arises because this is gonna be the first car I'm gonna purchase as pre-owned and I'm not very sure about the maintenance costs of both these vehicles.
Also not sure about the points of failures for these almost 8 year old cars and common issues I should look out for other than the BMW's DRL module giving up and turning them yellow.
I would love to hear what the owners and people who know abt both these cars have to say regarding service costs, major services and parts that fail/ need replacing.
I'm hoping to buy one under 35-40k kms.
Furthermore I would like to say that we plan on using quite scarcely, less than 500km a month since we have other vehicles at home, so should I stray away from the diesels and consider a 530i or e200 instead?
