How do i find my baby corn snake???????

He has only been with me for two weeks now. I went to go see if he was feeling good today but he wasnt in the spot hes been staying. I have TORN apart his enclosure and am regretting making it so well😭. I have also torn apart my room trying to find him now. Im a messy person and also have a lot of stuff. Where should I look and how might i be able to get him? Im so worried because hes so new to this home that he doesnt even know my scent very well yet. Im at a loss please help me. My dad didnt want me to have him in the first place because hes afraid of snakes. I thought his enclosure was escape proof but I think i missed one wire hole that he could fit through. If my dad finds him we are both dead. Im so so so anxious and worried about him. I feel like I’ve failed.

Ive had a lot of customers come in asking about how to keep an opossum.. one got it from a Cherokee reserve rescue (I dont know how they think they are rescuing them) and another said they took it off the sidewalk. To my knowledge it is illegal in NC to keep them because they are a protected native species. According to google it is a $1,000-$5,000 fine or up to 6 months of jail time. I believe you may be able to get permits to keep but im not sure what that entails I don’t feel comfortable helping them because 1: its illegal and i don’t want to be caught in that and 2: THE ANIMAL WILL NOT BE HAPPY! There are no enclosures or foods that we sell that are suitable for them. One woman got really pissed at me for saying that we don’t have any enclosures big enough and that the outside dog pens are hardly enough room for them and she bought a RAT CAGE. I almost cried. That poor baby got taken from his home and is now wasting away in something they cant even stretch out in let alone climb and exercise. Does anyone know the rules for when a customer asks or brings in an animal that is illegal to keep?? Im thinking about reaching out to corporate and forcing an answer out of them. I’ve made the personal decision that in the future I will not help them. If they want to ask my manager about it go for it but no im not selling you ANYTHING that might hurt an animal of any sort.

I made this example tank for my store!!

Edit-thank you for the comments! Here’s some clarification:

I was only allowed to put in things that we had more on the shelves. So no there are not the best decore just some to show that they like to hide and swim through things. We don’t have enough substrate on the shelf. (Trust im working on that as well.) no there is not a heater in there right now. We don’t have very many that are reliable in stock at the moment. The testing strips i have in there are the best that my store sells and is what we use to test the customers water as well. I will not be putting plants in this example tank. They will die. People will most likely not grab them from in there over on the display wall for them. They already die over there. This is exactly what I was allowed to do. Thank you for the comments! I do agree with most of them and they are mainly things I was not allowed or could not do… yet. Im working so hard to make these animals happy and have gotten a lot of compliments from customers.

We are working on fact cards next! And hopefully a hamster example tank.
