Appreciating Black Women
Don’t wanna make the post about me I don’t really know the perfect way to say this without sounding awkward, but I wanted to say it anyway.
As a white guy, I sometimes get in my own head talking to Black women because I worry about coming off out of place or not relatable enough. But the older I get, the more I realize connection isn’t about acting different — it’s about sincerity.
I’ve always found Black women incredibly beautiful, my little ass was trying to dip into the chocolate even back during Elementary school.
There’s just this feeling ya’ll give me sometimes especially during conversations. Ya’ll are kind, Funny, some of the most well educated women out there, ya’ll also have the ability to master this feeling of warmth and safety just by entering a room. For all my black lunch ladies, teachers, mothers, performers etc. Ya’ll always have deserved so much more for how ya’ll shape society and culture as a whole.
I know posts like this can sometimes come across the wrong way online, and I don’t want this to sound fetishizing or weird. A 22 year old Floridian just wanted to put genuine appreciation into the world for people who deserve to hear they’re valued and admired.
