diflucan but negative for yeast?
Hi, backstory… I have tested positive for bv since January of 2025, finally my gyno prescribed me Clindamycin vaginal cream, followed by 21 days of boric acid, followed by 4 months metro gel twice a week.
I finished the clindamycin, I did one day of the boric acid and had an awful reaction (swelling of my vulva, extremely hot to the touch, I was literally sitting in ice packs & crying from the pain I couldn’t sleep)
With that being said I stopped boric acid and went and saw my primary care doctor to make sure everything was okay.
She swabbed me for BV & everything else. She said it looked really angry and possibly yeasty but I got my tests back and I was negative for everything.
I know my vagina is angry, I just had a reaction to the boric acid, but she prescribed me 5 days of diflucan and I’m honestly so tired of taking medicine and just anxious about it especially after having such a bad reaction to the boric acid & metrodinazole in the past.
She said to take it anyways but I’m like ??? If it’s negative & im not having any discharge in my underwear or itching (just the general swelling which has gotten a lot better) I just don’t want to take more medicine.
Idk, am I tripping? She’s saying based on my symptoms I should take it but I’m pretty sure my symptoms are just from my boric acid reaction.
I don’t want to go against my doctor but I’m just worn out & happy the BV is finally negative I just want to chill. Let me know if I’m being dumb, I’m just concerned and don’t want to take something if I don’t have to. I even considered going to get a second opinion at an urgent care.
